Spooky!

Spooky!

Hello Crafters and Happy Wednesday to ya!  Got another spooooky :) fun card to share with you I made last night!  I’ve been in the Halloween mood lately and have been creating lots of creepy crawly cards that I’m going to be sending to my family and friends.

This scary cat image I downloaded from my Silhoutte library and thought it was purfect to create a card with.

I wanted the eyes to be green and sparkly so I added some Lime Green Stickles. I added a piece of green cardstock on the back.

For the wording “Creepy” I used Make The Cut software and typed up the word and weld it together.  I added more green stickles.

Hope your having fun creating fun Halloween Projects!!  What are you crafting for the spooky season?

Happy Tuesday Crafters! So, I have to say that I really had a rough, rough 3 day weekend at the hospital!  It was super busy and exhausting!  I’m just glad that the weekend went by and now I can enjoy my 2 days off.  I’m anxiously waiting for my 3 days off coming this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  But I sure hope you had a wonderful, fun, crafty weekend!

So, today on my day off, I wanted to be crafty and creative.  Halloween is coming up and it’s time to get spooky and frightfully crafty :) I love the cutting files from Lettering Delights.  I love this Witches Boot Card, isn’t it cute?  *sorry for the picture is a little to dark, I created this last noc*

I used my new software that I bought called Make The Cut, and I absolutely Laaaaaove it!!!  So easy to use!

I used DCWV Halloween DP and Cloud 9.  Flowers are from Prima and buttons from Basic Grey. The sentiment Halloween Stamp is from Studio G that I got from the $1.00 section at Michaels. To dress it up a little bit more I used Hero Arts Gem Stones.

Hello Crafters! Just want to share with you 2 Birthday Banners I made for my Godson’s 1st Birthday!

The 1st banner I made is a banner with his name on it {Jacob}

For these banners, I bought DCWV – All About Boys 12×12 Paper Pack

Here’s the 2nd banner I made for Jacob.  I bought him a high chair and wanted to make a banner that wraps around the chair.

Here’s how it looks on the high chair!  Cute huh?  It was so funny that when we sat Jacob in his chair, he was such a happy baby!

Sewing Project 2 ~ Cupcake Apron

Sewing Project 2 ~ Cupcake Apron

Hello Creative Crafters!! So today projects is all about Yummy Cupcakes :)  Cupcakes you can actually wear!  Since I enjoy baking, I wanted to make my own personalized apron.  And since I love to make cupcakes, I found this really cute fabric over at Joann’s.

This is my 1st apron I have ever made.  It was really simple to make!  To get started I basically went on YouTube and see if i can view any videos to give me an idea how to make one.  Since I’m learning how to sew, it was fairly simple to make! :)  If you want to learn how to make your very own Apron,  you can check one  of my many favorite videos on YouTube from Missouri Quilt Company.  Just click here —> Making An Apron Using Tea Towels Part 1, Making An Apron Using Tea Towels Part 2.

For the side pink ruffles, I wish I could say I made them but no I didn’t….lol!!!  It’s a trim that I bought at Joann’s.  I love how it matches the pink cupcake liners :)

For the top ties, I bought a pink fabric that closely matches to my trim.

If you noticed on all 3 pictures, I have a different blog name on the pictures. Incase you didn’t know, I have another blog…….a baking blog called Sweet Bakes Of Mine.  Come on over and check it out! :)

Sewing Project 1- Bicycle Basket Cover

Sewing Project 1- Bicycle Basket Cover

Hi! There Crafty friends! Hope your having a great crafty week!  So I want to show you pictures of my project that I made for my new bicycle that my sweet hubby bought me.  Gotta say that I love love my bike! It’s a brand new Trek 7100, isn’t she pretty!!!  Love the light shade of blue!

I bought a bike basket to add to my bike, so I can carry snacks and lots of water bottles and of course my little radio I can place in while riding. But I really didn’t want my stuff to fall out and have everybody look what i carried in my basket.  So I decided to make a cover for my basket.

It was fairly easy to make.  The way I learned was by watching YouTube videos and simply learning how to make a cover for any kind of basket.

I wanted to create a top cover on top for the basket. I really didn’t want my things to be jumping out and plus it keeps my water bottles and snacks cool from the hot sun!

Here’s a picture of what the inside of the cover looks like.  I added a large pocket inside for my small sunblock lotion, keys or for anything. And added a small pen holder pocket. I made another large side pocket to add more goodies! :) I added an attachment to the side for my top cover so it doesn’t fly out while riding. A girlie basket is not a girlie basket without a flower in the center :)   I used my Prima Flowers that I had bought a long time ago and it matched perfectly with the fabric! If you want to learn how to make a cover for any basket you can watch these 2 videos over at YouTube. One is from Cubly Video Podcast and the other one is from Drapery Ideas.  This one is a 2 part video series.  Part I and Part 2.

New Hobby!

New Hobby!
New Hobby!

Hey there crafters!  Like I said in my previous post, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything crafty.  I’ve been doing other fun things before the heat wave hit us here in California, I was doing a lot of baking!  I have a baking blog, you can check it out over at Sweet Bakes Of Mine.  But with the hot, humid and price of AC, well its not really a good idea for me to bake in this hot weather.

I recently started to take some sewing classes at my local craft store at Joann’s.  I’m totally hooked and I love it!!  My only problem is getting used to reading the patterns and understanding some of the techniques.  So, I decided to do some research and get some Sewing 101 books and learn how to sew talk…..lol!!

So here is what I’ve been up to lately.  I absolutely love these books!!  They’re so highly recommend at Amazaon.com and thought I buy them check them out! It has all the information for a beginner sewer like me!

Book 1: Reader’s Digest Complete Guide to SewingBook 2: Singer – The Complete Photo Guide To Sewing ( 1200 Full-Color How-to Photos)
Book 3:The Complete Book Of Sewing – A Practical Step-by-Stem Guide To Sewing Techniques

I definitely have a lot to catch up and read.  But I think once I have the basics down, I hope to sew a lot of fun crafty stuff!  But my main goal in sewing is make my own scrub tops and scrub pants.

Thanks for stopping by!! If your a new beginner sewer like me and have some fun creative projects, comment and I love to visit your blog!!!
